Want to improve your photography skills?

Ever since I started this blog I have used Mark's iphone to take my photos.  Its good but I realised the time had come to upgrade so I can get more professional looking shots and have more control over my picture taking.  It also means I don't have to wrestle Mark for his phone anymore or hear the moans when I need to borrow it!  Biting the bullet, I took the plunge and bought myself a Fuji Finepix X10 from Park Cameras.  I have never had a decent camera so I was like a kid in a sweet shop and couldn't wait to try it out.

I realised that whilst it was all well and good that I had a fancy camera, I actually needed to learn how to use it properly.  This is where I felt Lyndsey James, professional food, product and editorial photographer would be a huge help.  Lyndsey runs photography workshops specifically aimed at Vintage and Craft businesses with a choice of one or two day workshops.

The first day looks at camera skills, the second on styling - both days aimed specifically at people running a craft or vintage business. You don't need a mega expensive camera and the days are suitable for beginners and for the more experienced.

The venue is the fab St Julian's just outside Sevenoaks - easy to get to off the A21 and only 10 mins from junction 5 of the M25 on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th August 2013

More details and booking forms can be found at the address below.

Click on each workshop to read more about it, see prices etc, and at the bottom can click 'book now' button which takes you to a booking form. You simply select Sevenoaks and check the boxes next to the workshops you want to attend. If you attend both there is a reduced price of £230 for in total for the two days, but you can just do one.

Places are limited but there are a couple left on the Sevenoaks workshop which is the one I will be doing.  If its something you'd like to learn or improve then do seriously consider booking, it will be a great couple of days with like minded people.

You can also find Lyndsey on Facebook

Looking forward to meeting a few fellow vintage nuts on the course!

  2. Doesn't it Jean! I do need help on the styling side of things and as its aimed specifically at vintage and craft sellers, I thought why not. I do get photo envy sometimes and wonder how people manage to take such great photos, now I'll know!
